In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), ensuring they operate efficiently and meet all safety standards. Responsibilities

• Carry out regular maintenance checks and repairs on HGVs to ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and carry out necessary repairs with precision.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including fluid checks, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on vehicles.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient operations.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in transport regulations and vehicle technology.
• Follow health and safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace.
• Assist in training new staff and apprentices in proper repair techniques and safety measures.

Requirements

• A recognized qualification in HGV mechanics or a completed apprenticeship in vehicle maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience as an HGV Mechanic or in a related role.
• Strong diagnostic abilities to identify and troubleshoot mechanical failures.
• Familiarity with various tools and specialized equipment for vehicle repair.
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• A valid driver's license and relevant certifications for working on HGVs.
