The HEMA Lead Mexico leads Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA) strategy and execution for DePuy Synthes, enablingoptimalreimbursement, access, and adoption of innovativeorthopaedicsolutions. The role is accountable for shaping value-based access strategies, engaging key external stakeholders, and enabling sustainable business performance aligned with Mexico priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement Market Access Strategies:Execute innovative market access, health economics, and reimbursement strategies for key technologies inMexicoCollaborate closely with the Commercial and Marketing teams.
Drive VBHC Strategy:Lead the execution of Value-Based Health Care (VBHC) strategies for strategic products and procedures, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
Analyze Insights:Provide analysis on macroeconomic trends, health economics, epidemiology, market access, and reimbursement, utilizingthese insights toidentifynew business opportunities and enhance market positioning.
Engage Stakeholders:Develop and maintainstrong relationships with key payers and providers across Mexico’s public and private healthcare landscape, clearly articulating evidence-based value propositions to improve patient access.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Innovate and refine market access assessments and strategies to address significant local unmet needs and opportunities in the region.
Evaluate the reimbursement and coverage landscape in Mexico and navigate access challenges for new products and procedures across public institutions and private sector pathways.
Establish trusted relationships with key decision makers and influencers involved in coverage,purchasing, and adoption, including state health services decision-makers, private sector payers and hospital networks, and relevant regulatory/assessment stakeholders.
Create compelling health economics business cases that support the access and adoption of both new and existing technologies.
Engage proactively with external value management stakeholders across Mexico to build trust and accelerate technology adoption (e.g., institutional committees, hospital networks, procurement groups, and clinical societies, as applicable).
Support commercial strategies byidentifyingopportunities and tailoring actionable plans for diverse stakeholders, ensuring effective communication of valuemessage
Conduct comprehensive training sessions for internal and external stakeholders on technology-specific value propositions and health economics concepts.
Monitor execution against HEMA priorities and businessobjectives, ensuring alignment to agreed plans,milestonesand governance expectations.
Ensure compliance with applicable quality,ethicsand local regulatory requirements, consistent with HEMA standards.
Thisrole may take ondirect responsibility for a priority and strategic business at LATAM regional level, defined according to LATAM needs, ensuring HEMA strategy and execution align with business priorities and performanceobjectives
Requirements and Skills:
Deepexpertisein the Mexican healthcare system, including public institutions and private sector dynamics influencing access, procurement, and reimbursement.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the healthcare sector, particularly in Health Economics & Market Access.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a persuasive edge.
Proven ability to think creatively and strategically to fill market access gaps.
Strong collaboration skills with a proactive approach to engaging with stakeholders.
Familiarity with non-clinical stakeholders is desirable; experience with Medical Devices access projects is a plus.
Fluency in Spanish isrequired; workingproficiencyin English isrequired
Willingness to travel nationally and regionally, including overnight stays.
Additional Desirable Capabilities:
Knowledgeand practice in Value-Based Healthcare (VBHC).
Background in economic evaluation and healthcare modeling.
Qualifications:
Education: University/Bachelor’s Degreeor Equivalent; aMaster’s degree in Health Economics, Public Health, Epidemiology, or related fields is highly regarded.
Experience: 5-10 years of related role experience in Health Economics & Market Access,showcasingthe ability to deliver results independently.
