Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a HEMA Lead Benelux located in Amersfoort, Netherlands

The HEMA Lead Benelux leads Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA) strategy and execution across Benelux, ensuringoptimalaccess, funding, and adoption of innovativeorthopaedicsolutions. The role drivesvaluebasedaccess strategies aligned with Benelux healthcare systems and EMEA priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute HEMA strategy for Benelux aligned with DePuy Synthes and EMEA priorities.

  • Develop and deliver market access and fundingstrategies toenable adoption and sustainable growth.

  • Build andmaintainstrategic relationships with payers, HTA bodies, institutional decision-makersand relevant authorities to shape the external environment and advance value-based adoption.

  • Lead EMEA-alignedevidencegeneration and value creationactivities andtranslate insights into local value messages,toolsand materials.

  • Partner cross-functionallywith Marketing, Sales, Medical/Clinical and Regulatory teams to develop and execute market access and reimbursement strategies across the product lifecycle.

  • Manage heterogeneous access andreimbursement and fundingenvironments across Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg, including hospital-based and payer-driven pathways. 

  • Ensure effective deployment of health economic tools, valueassetsand training to enable internal stakeholders and strengthen field activation.

  • Monitor execution against HEMA priorities and businessobjectives, ensuring alignment to agreed plans,milestonesand governance expectations.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality,ethicsand local regulatory requirements, consistent with EMEA HEMA standards.

  • This role may take on direct responsibility for a priority and strategic business at EMEA regional level, defined according to EMEA needs, ensuring HEMA strategy and execution align with business priorities and performanceobjectives

Scope & Impact

Full strategic responsibility for HEMA outcomes in Benelux with high autonomy and direct impact on access success, innovation adoption, and revenue sustainability. This role may alsoholdsdirect responsibility fora priorityand strategic business at EMEA regional level(defined according to EMEA needs), ensuring HEMA strategy and execution align with business priorities, performanceobjectives, and value delivery expectations.

Qualifications

Advanced degree (Master’sor PhD preferred) in Health Economics, Public Health, LifeSciencesor related field.
7+ years of experience in Market Access or HEMA roles, preferably within MedTech or Pharmaceuticals.
Fluent in English; local language skills preferred depending on geography.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€81,000.00 - €127,765.00

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
