Job Duties:

  • Receive deliveries from vendors and verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
  • Safely unload trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or other material-handling equipment. Inspect incoming shipments for shortages, damage, or discrepancies and report issues to the supervisor. Organize, label, stock, and rotate inventory in designated warehouse locations. Pull and stage departmental orders for pickup or delivery.
  • Assist employees and departments with locating and issuing warehouse supplies. Complete requisitions and inventory documentation for items issued to departments. Maintain accurate inventory records and notify the supervisor when stock levels are low or items need to be reordered. Assist with periodic physical inventory counts and inventory reconciliation.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. Stack and store materials safely to maximize warehouse space. Sweep floors, dust shelving, remove trash, and maintain general housekeeping throughout the warehouse.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment in accordance with all safety procedures. Load university vehicles for deliveries as needed. Deliver materials, furniture, equipment, and supplies to campus departments when assigned. Assist with surplus property by organizing, storing, moving, and preparing items for transfer or disposal.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following OSHA and institutional safety policies. Report damaged equipment, safety hazards, and maintenance needs to the supervisor.
