Job Description

The Help Desk Specialist is responsible for working across the organization to provide technical support to local and remote employees. Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of computer systems administration and support tasks, including analyzing, constructing, documenting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting of PC hardware, operating systems, software applications, peripherals and communication devices for the organization. This position requires solid verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel within the organization.  This is a hands-on position that reports to the IT Manager.

Help Desk Specialist Essential Functions:

  • Under the guidance of the IT Manager, effectively handle day-to-day help desk tickets (including documentation) and technical support needs in an effective manner while balancing multiple and shifting priorities.
  • Embrace special projects enthusiastically.
  • Comfortable working as part of a small team.

Help Desk Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the IT Department provides excellent internal customer service at all times
  • Provide support for the following: Laptops/Desktops/Tablets, printers, file shares, user account creation, MS Office products, Telephony systems, SmartSheet, iPhones, Helpdesk documentation, basic network issues
  • Troubleshoot user-reported IT issues and provide resolution onsite or via remote access
  • Track and follow up on technical issues using a ticket management system. Document procedures and resolutions to support requests
  • Quickly and accurately determine/diagnose the scope and impact of technical issues.
  • Update and maintain documentation
  • Cross train with others in the IT Department
  • Participate on special projects as directed
  • Other duties as assigned

Help Desk Specialist Skills/Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in IT or Computer Science, Technical training or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge/experience with Virtual Computing, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, VPN, printers, and laptops
  • Advanced skill level in MS Office Suite required

Help Desk Specialist Compensation:

Base Wage Range: $24.00/hr - $26.00/hr Prior work or industry experience as well as job-related education and unique skills will be taken into consideration when setting the wage rate.

This role resides on-site in Centennial Colorado. Only local candidates will be considered.
