Job Description

Under general supervision, operates one of a variety of heavy and special motor equipment of five (5) tons or over. Makes minor adjustments to equipment and, when not driving, does related work as required.

Responsibilities

  • Operates a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc.
  • Makes minor adjustments to equipment.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications

  • Applicants must have at least one (1) year of experience as a Heavy Motor Equipment Operator.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Massachusetts commercial driver's license.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Ability to operate a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc.
  • Ability to make minor adjustments to equipment.
  • Must be able to work any assigned shift in any assigned area.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to implement them while operating machinery.
  • Pre-employment physical and drug tests are required.

Qualifications acquired on the job:

  • Gain knowledge in operating heavy machinery such as tractors, skid steers, and backhoes specifically for park maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to adjust to different park environments and varying project requirements.
