Heavy Machinery Operator

Location: Sunol, CA

Pay: $45.00/hour

Job Type: Full-Time Contract | In-Person

About the Role

We are looking to hire experienced Heavy Machinery Operators to operate large mining vehicles, support equipment testing, and ensure safe, reliable vehicle performance. This role is ideal for safety-conscious operators interested in heavy equipment and autonomous vehicle technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate articulated haul trucks, excavators, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
• Identify and report mechanical issues and vehicle performance concerns.
• Support hardware and software testing and provide feedback to engineering teams.
• Follow all safety procedures and DOT requirements.
• Travel up to 5% for field operations and training.

Requirements

• 5+ years of verifiable heavy machinery operating experience.
• Ability to operate and reverse large articulated haul trucks safely.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check, road test, and DOT-required screening.
• Ability to drive for extended periods and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and teamwork.
• Interest in driver-assistance systems and autonomous vehicle technology.

Preferred Qualification: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A).
