We’re looking for an experienced Heavy Haulage Transport Driver to transport oversized, overweight and difficult-to-move loads safely, legally and efficiently across Auckland. From heavy machinery and industrial equipment to large structures and infrastructure components, you’ll play a key role in delivering complex transport movements that keep major projects running.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

As part of our specialist Heavy Haulage team, you’ll operate purpose-built trucks and trailers to move over dimension and specialised freight that standard transport services can’t handle. You’ll be responsible for load security, vehicle checks, approved route planning, and working closely with dispatch, customers and site teams to make sure every delivery is completed safely, on time and without damage.

This is a night shift role, working 6pm to 6am, Monday to Friday.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Operating heavy haulage trucks and trailer combinations safely and professionally.

  • Transporting oversized, overweight and specialised loads across Auckland and surrounding areas.

  • Loading, restraining and securing freight to meet safety and compliance requirements.

  • Completing pre-starts, vehicle checks and equipment inspections.

  • Following approved routes and supporting safe transport planning for complex movements.

  • Coordinating with dispatchers, escorts, customers and site teams to deliver efficiently.

  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with permit, compliance and health and safety requirements.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

  • A current New Zealand Class 4 or Class 5 licence.

  • Proven heavy vehicle driving experience, ideally in heavy haulage or specialised transport.

  • Strong knowledge of load restraint, route planning and safe delivery practices.

  • Experience moving machinery, plant, heavy equipment or other oversized freight.

  • A sound understanding of transport compliance, permit requirements and over dimension movements.

  • A strong commitment to safety, professionalism and quality work.

  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work well with a range of people.
