Make your mark while you grow your career! Do you have On-Road Heavy Duty mechanical experience? We are looking for you to join our team and focus on the maintenance requirements for designated auxiliary and support equipment. As an On Road Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be an integral member of the Infrastructure, Logistics & Project Controls (ILPC) team at our Albian site and directly support Auxiliary Maintenance goals and objectives. In this role, you will collaborate with and work alongside field and shop maintenance crews to ensure that all Site Support equipment is optimized and maintained.

  • Job location: Albian Oil Sands - Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 7 x 7, 12-hour shift
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair heavy on road and support equipment
  • Perform and Sign Off Commercial Vehicle Inspections for DOT
  • Utilize computerized and other testing equipment to determine repairs
  • Make recommendations regarding repairs and methods for improvement as well as interpret and complete both scheduled and unscheduled work orders
  • Contribute to the ongoing reliability of all heavy on-road equipment and complete preventative maintenance requirements
  • Test repaired equipment to verify proper maintenance and create detailed service reports
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work on heavy on road equipment as required

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Typically, 5+ years of related industry experience with High School Diploma/GED
  • Heavy Equipment Technician/On Road Journeyman Certificate in Alberta and/or an Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate
  • Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certification
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license
  • Familiarity with and understanding of computer-based maintenance planning programs and Microsoft Office suite
  • Maintenance expertise in Highway Tractors, Lifts, Medium Duty Trucks, Boats, Generators, Welders, Pumps, Air Compressors, Mobile Cranes and Skid Steers
