Job Description

The Heavy Equipment Operator, under direct supervision performs earthmoving duties on a daily basis.

  • Pay Rate: $26.00 - $28.00/hour, depending on experience
  • Assignment Length: 2-year contract with the high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.

Responsibilities:

  • General knowledge of hydraulic principles.
  • Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing PPE.
  • Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.

Qualifications:

  • Skills are typically acquired through completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years experience operating Caterpillar 637 scrapers, D9 dozers and 140 patrol, in a mine setting, required or general experience operating Caterpillar D8 dozer and 980 loader in stockpile setting.
  • Must have working knowledge of overburden handling, ore and soil segregation.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Reliable, productive, eager to learn, and a strong team player.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
