Job Description
Audubon is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator II to join our team in our Off Site Office. The Heavy Equipment Operator II will perform the movement of Earth and debris for a jobsite via the usage of heavy equipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must possess all Knowledge Skills and Abilities for positions.
- Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license and meet a motor vehicle records check.
- Must have experience and knowledge of operating varies construction equipment including but not limited to: bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, front-end loaders, backhoes, rollers, and graders.
- Must have basic mechanical knowledge and illustrate the abilities to inspect equipment.
- Must have knowledge of and be familiar with soil types.
- Must illustrate knowledge of excavating and the specifications that are required for a given excavation.
- Must be able to follow instructions correctly.
- Must be reliable, accountable, and consistent in performing administrative processes such as but not limited to equipment inspection paperwork.
- Must be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations.
- Must be able to make it work on time and work the designated schedule and any overtime as needed with the proper notification.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:
- All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
- Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
- Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
- Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
- Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Related trade school education is preferred.
- Three years' experience in the construction industry.
- Three years' experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
- Must be able to obtain site & Safety training certifications required for the project.
- Civil construction and quality assurance practices and procedures.
- Construction safety practices.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate and report effectively.
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
- Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
- Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
