Boone Quarry – Rogers Group – Verona, KY

Full Time

Mid-Shift with approximate shift times of 4 pm – 2 am and overtime as needed. Typical work week is considered Monday - Friday but the selected candidate will need to be flexible and work weekends as needed.

Starting pay for this position will be set at $36/hr This includes a $34/hr base pay and a $2/hr shift differential. Overall pay will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and skill set.

Rogers Group Inc. is seeking an experienced individual to fill a position as a HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC for our underground and surface operation in Verona, KY. Boone Quarry is an underground limestone mine/quarry.

This role requires previous experience as a mechanic working on heavy equipment. The role will be responsible for performing repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on a wide variety of mining and quarry equipment and fixed plant equipment. The applicant must have a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brake systems, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating/cooling and electrical systems, as well as other systems generally encountered in the industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
• Minimum of five years of experience working on heavy equipment.
• Perform heavy or major maintenance repairs as needed.
• Perform routine scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks.
• Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
• Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
• Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.
• Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
• Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment.
• Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
• Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
• Weekend work/overtime may be required.
• Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist, and lift 70lbs.
• Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet.
• Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
• Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.
