RECRUITMENT: The State Highway Administration’s (SHA) District 2 is recruiting for a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician II position in Queen Anne’s, Caroline, Kent, Cecil, and Talbot Counties. These positions are open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below.
Nature of Work: The Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician II will perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment and to assist in performing major repairs and overhauls on vehicles and heavy equipment. This includes diesel powered, electronic computerized, and fuel injected equipment.

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience servicing, maintaining and repairing motor vehicles, gasoline and/or diesel engines, or heavy-duty construction equipment. One (1) year of the required experience must include servicing and repairing heavy duty construction equipment and diesel engines.
This position is considered an essential employee and is subject to all 24 hours a day, 7 days/week for inclement weather and/or other emergency events. Must be reachable and respond to calls after work hours.
