Job DetailsJob Location: Arnold Oil Company of Austin - Alice Street WH - Houston, TX 77021Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Not SpecifiedThe Heavy-Duty Parts Specialist provides customer support, quotes, and sells heavy-duty truck/equipment parts via phone, email, and computer. They identify customers’ needs, manage orders, source inventory, and provide exceptional service to commercial clients, often supporting sales team members. This position reports directly to the Store/Warehouse Manager and is required to perform any or all duties as assigned by management and provide all services necessary for successful sales environment including, but not limited to, obtaining or receiving merchandise, totaling bill, accepting payment, and providing excellent customer service in a retail store/parts counter environment.
**Pay to commensurate with experience.**
The primary job functions include, but are not limited to:
Assists customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
Answer customer questions, provide price quotes, and other pertinent parts information.
Responsible for answering telephones to facilitate the processing of all invoice billing and order collection with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
Provide a high level of service to both internal and external customers.
Pull and fill orders from stock.
Locate out-of-stock parts from alternative sources to fulfill urgent orders, if necessary.
Responsible for ensuring special orders and transfers that are generated are completed in a timely manner.
Write customer credits, core and defect returns, and ensure all cores and defects are returned in a timely manner.
Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, backed with solid product knowledge.
Process work orders, invoices and other paperwork requiring company procedural knowledge.
Make sure all orders are billed correctly and keep orderly records.
May be required to open or close the store when needed.
Minimal management skills as required by absence of management staff.
Process special orders and other paperwork requiring Level 2 administrative clearance.
Responsible for all functions as requested by management.
Present a good image of the company through proper dress and attitude.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Assist store staff with superior knowledge of products and industry in order to access special merchandise.

QualificationsThe skill requirements include, but are not limited to:
Ability to work well with others and assist customers cooperatively and courteously.
Exemplary company work records, including attendance.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy environment.
Related experience in the auto parts industry preferred.
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Must have basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Ability to read and write in English.
Must successfully complete background and criminal history checks.
Must pass a physical, human performance evaluation and a drug test.
Good understanding of and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Must maintain regular and prompt attendance.
Attitude that supports the Company’s goals and values.
Experience Requirements:
Two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in heavy-duty truck/heavy equipment parts sales.
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification Requirements:
ASE Counterman Certification preferred.
Possess current and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
