We’re hiring Heavy Duty Mechanics to support our customers in the Oil Sands at our Fort McKay Shop. If you have large CAT mining equipment experience this job is for you. Don’t miss out - apply today!

Major Job Functions:

  • Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and perform equipment repairs
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
  • Experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with a strong knowledge on Caterpillar mining equipment
  • 3rd or 4th year Heavy Duty Mechanic apprentices may be considered based on experience

Important Detail:

  • This shop position is on a 7x7 or 14x14 shift rotation based out of our Fort McKay facility
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator

Union Membership:

  • You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted
  • Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
  • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
