Take on a role where your skills and passion keep the heavy iron moving. As a Field Heavy Duty Mechanic, you’ll troubleshoot and perform running repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and perform preventative maintenance across a wide range of Caterpillar Mining Equipment.
Your work will include:
Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in a field environment
Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
Completing required paperwork and maintaining clear customer communication
Specific Skills & Experience
Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 yr)
3+ years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician, with demonstrated time in the field
Strong skills in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be beneficial
Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience
Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset
Important Details:
7 x 7 Continuous Shift based in Elkford, BC
$300/month LOA (Commuters/non-residents (80+ km away) who provide own housing)
A condition of employment includes the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
Union Membership: This is a unionized position. Union dues will be deducted from your pay upon hire. Terms of employment are governed by a collective agreement.
