As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, at Diavik Mine, you’ll troubleshoot and repair a variety of Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar heavy equipment such as Rock Trucks, D9 and D10 dozers, 395 Excavators & Graders; leveraging your technical expertise to build trust, solve challenges, and keep our customers equipment moving.
Your work will include:
Field diagnosis and running repairs of CAT Equipment in an active mine environment
Interface with customers, products and sales support
Large‑scale overhauls and rebuilds
Component replacements
Completing required paperwork and maintaining clear customer communication
Specific Skills & Experience
Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic/(HET) Certification
Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract (5 Yr)
5+ Years Off Road Mechanical Experience Recommended
Previous repair experience on the Caterpillar mining and general line product lines 793 Haul Trucks, 6015, 6040 and 6060 Shovels, D9 and D10 dozers, 395 Excavators, and 18 Graders
Computer literacy along with Finning S-level courses
Important Details:
This is a site position, on a 14 x 14 continuous shift rotation (potential day shift / night shift rotation, depending on customer requirements)
Customer Flights provided out of Edmonton or Yellowknife
Housing allowance for employees who maintain a residence in Yellowknife
A condition of employment requires the ability to obtain Customer Site Access (drug, alcohol and fitness testing) and the capacity to wear a respirator
