Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter is to be responsible for upkeeping machinery and repairs on Qube Forestry's Infield Equipment.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Perform mechanical inspections and servicing (Preventative maintenance tasks) as directed by the workshop manager and maintenance planner.
  • Carry out mechanical maintenance (corrective maintenance tasks) as directed by the workshop manager and maintenance planner
  • Attend to, rectify and report any equipment breakdowns immediately
  • Complete any mechanical works as recommended by Original Equipment Manufacturer
  • Ensure all completed mechanical documentation are submitted to the maintenance planner for record keeping
  • Assist in identifying and implementing maintenance opportunities for improvement
  • Assist other roles for any tasks deemed necessary by management
  • Participate in any meetings including any prestart, HSE, maintenance toolbox meetings and any other meetings deemed necessary
  • Notify workshop manager of any defects/damage on all mobile equipment
  • Liaise with workshop manager and maintenance planner to ensure major plant inspections and major repairs are planned and scheduled
  • Attend Fleet roadside breakdowns as required

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Heavy Duty Diesel mechanic trade certificate
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people
  • Sound skills using Microsoft Office, Excel and Power point
  • Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment
  • Ability to work well within a small team environment
