Vehicle Dealers International Pty Ltd (VDI) is the sole Australian distributor for Yutong buses. In Western Australia, VDI operates both the Perth IVECO dealership and Yutong Bus Centre WA, delivering industry-leading sales, service and parts support.

We're seeking a trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship, maintaining high safety standards, and providing outstanding customer service. About the Role

In this hands-on role, you will play a key role in servicing, diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicles to ensure they operate safely, reliably and efficiently. Working within a professional workshop environment, you will support our customers by delivering high-quality maintenance and repair solutions while contributing to a safe and productive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing and routine inspections in accordance with OEM requirements.
• Diagnose and repair faults using diagnostic equipment and technical expertise.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering systems, hydraulics, pneumatic systems and electrical systems.
• Identify wear, defects and potential safety concerns.
• Complete warranty repairs in line with manufacturer and company guidelines.
• Ensure all vehicles meet required safety and licensing standards.
• Assisting in the pre-delivery inspections and preparation of new Vehicles
• Accurately record work performed, time taken and repair details on repair orders and company systems.
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Support team members and apprentices as required.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment.
• Follow all company, OEM and safety procedures to ensure compliance and quality workmanship.
• Assisting in the pre-delivery inspections and preparation of new Vehicles

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Trade qualification in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality work and first-time-fix outcomes.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
• Current MR Licence (minimum requirement).
• Forklift ticket (desirable).
• A positive attitude and willingness to assist across the workshop when required.
