Job Description

Elko Sanitation, a trusted WasteConnections company, is looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to keep our fleet running strong. If you're a hands-on problem-solver who takes pride in quality work and wants a stable, long-term opportunity.

Schedule: Mon-Friday(Occasional Sat.) 8hr shifts scheduled between 7:00am-7:00pm.(OT daily)

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:

Starting Pay: $29.00+/hr DOE(or with current CDL)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenanceservices.
  • Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment
  • Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance softwareprogram associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle InspectionReports.
  • Performs maintenance related work as required.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHAstandards.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Driver’s License with a Clean Driving Record(Required)
  • Class A or B CDL (Preferred, but not Required.)
  • 2+ years of diesel repair experience (fleet, trucking, heavy equipment, etc.) or completion of a diesel tech program
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals in English
  • Provide personal tools.
  • Welding or fabrication experience is a big plus!
