About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Site Foreman / Superintendent to lead field operations on complex heavy civil and site development projects. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily construction activities, supervising field crews, coordinating equipment and subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in heavy civil construction, including earthwork, mass grading, excavation, underground utilities, and drainage infrastructure. This individual will serve as the on-site leader, collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, inspectors, utility providers, and clients to deliver high-quality projects from mobilization through completion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and supervise daily field operations on heavy civil construction projects.
• Coordinate manpower, subcontractors, equipment, and materials to maintain project schedules.
• Interpret construction drawings, grading plans, utility plans, cut sheets, and project specifications.
• Oversee excavation, site preparation, mass grading, cut-and-fill operations, and underground utility installation.
• Conduct daily planning meetings and proactively resolve field issues.
• Enforce OSHA safety standards and company safety policies.
• Perform quality inspections and maintain accurate daily reports and production documentation.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among field personnel.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in heavy civil construction and site development
• Proven leadership experience as a Foreman, Superintendent, or similar field management role
• Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, earthwork, site preparation, and underground utility installation.
• Experience installing sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water mains, drainage systems, and stormwater infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, grading plans, utility profiles, and cut sheets.
• Experience coordinating multiple crews, subcontractors, and daily field operations.
• Hands-on experience with heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, and compaction equipment.
• Experience with laser grading equipment, GPS machine control systems, and Trimble grade control technology.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
