He angitūtanga: The opportunity
This role sits at the intersection of data, environment, and infrastructure, supporting how Auckland manages and protects its stormwater network. As a Healthy Waters Specialist within the Systems and Insights team, you’ll play a key role in developing and managing data and information systems that provide insight into environmental and social drivers, network performance, and operational impacts.
Working closely with internal teams and partner agencies, the role contributes to evidence‑based decision making, improved environmental outcomes, and more resilient stormwater operations across the region.

You’re comfortable working with complex datasets and enjoy translating technical information into practical insights that inform decisions. With a background in engineering, science, or a related discipline, you bring a collaborative mindset and enjoy working across disciplines and organisations.
As a proactive, detail‑focused individual you are motivated by work that has a tangible impact on environmental outcomes and community wellbeing. An interest in innovation, continuous improvement, and contributing to a safety‑focused and inclusive workplace will see you thrive in this role.
