The Healthy Living Director will develop, supervise, and administer the Health and Well-Being programs: wellness floor, group classes, personal training and wellness events. The incumbent will bring the department to the next level by expanding our fitness and wellness programs to meet the needs and demands of our membership and community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Implement strategies in assigned areas that promote recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. Organize wellness and group exercise team to support membership development and achievement of goals through programming and classes. Identify and resolve problems in assigned areas to ensure a world class member experience.
· Conduct ongoing assessment of staff functions to determine required core competencies and skills; design and implement trainings as needed. Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct personnel and volunteers as needed. Regularly review and evaluate staff performance. Develop strategies to motivate staff to achieve goals and improve performance.
· Responsible for staff training and maintaining staff certification requirements. Implement a system to keep staff current in required certifications. Regularly evaluate programs by soliciting responses from members and staff. Responsible for tracking of enrollment, evaluation, and other relevant administrative functions.
· Leads assigned aspects of the fundraising campaign. Participates in staff meetings and/or related meetings.
· Collaborates with other facility and program leaders as needed to ensure good communication and a world class member experience.
· Maintain a safe environment at all times.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Visual and auditory ability to observe and to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.
· Ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills.
· Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to climb, push, and pull.
· Ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A Bachelor degree or 1 year education, experience and knowledge in fitness principles and applications as related to exercise physiology, bio-mechanics and exercise prescription required preferred
2. Enthusiastic, Fun, Great Personality
3. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication; Bilingual a plus.
4. Ability to build relationships with staff, members, and participants.
5. Ability to multi-task, and make sound independent judgments.
