EBCAP is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthy Families America (HFA) Family Visitor to provide home-based support to families with young children. This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping families build healthy relationships, access critical resources, and achieve their goals in a strength-based, family-centered environment.
The HFA Family Visitor is responsible for providing structured home-visiting services designed to support child development, parenting skills, family health, and overall well-being. Key responsibilities include conducting home visits, completing assessments, developing family-centered goals, and connecting families with community resources while ensuring compliance with Healthy Families America and Rhode Island Department of Health standards.

Key Responsibilities
Family Engagement and Support
- Conduct regular home visits centered on parenting, child development, and family wellness
- Partner with families to establish goals and create actionable plans
- Provide strength-based, culturally responsive guidance and support
Resource Coordination and Community Connection
- Connect families with internal programs and community-based services
- Develop and maintain referral networks to expand support options
- Guide families through available home visiting program options to ensure best fit
Assessments and Documentation
- Complete required screenings and assessments in accordance with program guidelines
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation aligned with EBCAP and RIDOH expectations
Collaboration and Program Participation
- Participate in reflective supervision, ongoing training, and quality improvement activities
- Collaborate with programs such as Head Start, WIC, Behavioral Health, and Health Centers to ensure coordinated care
- Support outreach and recruitment efforts to engage eligible families

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries

- Ability to work independently while effectively using supervision
- Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse populations
- Basic computer and documentation skills
- Bilingual ability (Spanish, Portuguese, or Creole) is a plus
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with children and families
- Knowledge of early childhood development (birth to age five)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information appropriately
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for home visits
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Child Development, Education, or a related field
- Infant Mental Health endorsement
- Experience working within evidence-based home visiting or family support programs
