The Healthy Babies (HB) Senior Administrative Officer provides day-to-day supervision of the Healthy Babies Administrative Team and performs administrative work to assist the Healthy Babies Program Manager. This position works to meet the mission of the Sedgwick County Health Department by promoting the wellness of Sedgwick County residents through the Healthy Babies Program’s focus on reduction of infant mortality, maternal mortality, low birth weight, and prematurity among high-risk birthing people. The HB SAO plans, directs, evaluates and reports on designated phases of the Healthy Babies Program, performs personnel and office management, purchasing, and assists in budget preparation and monitoring. This position serves as part of leadership team and assists in the review of office and field procedures and the development of procedural improvement based on analytical evaluation. Employee will provide support during public health emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications: Two years’ experience in progressive responsibility and varied administrative work including data analysis in a public or private organization, including supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in health services, public or business administration, or a related field. Education may be substituted for additional experience, with one year of education for one year of experience. Per Sedgwick County Policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Must complete Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) IS 100 and 700 courses within 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications: Three years or more experience in progressive responsibility and varied administrative work including data analysis in a public or private organization, including supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Two years of experience in women’s health, infant and/or child’s health, and/or public health. Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in health services, public or business administration or a related field. Bilingual English/Spanish skills or other non-English language.
