Job Description
Snapscale is seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Virtual Assistant who can work onsite to support day-to-day clinic operations and ensure a seamless patient experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience in U.S. healthcare processes. The ideal candidate must have proven expertise in EMR systems , specifically Athena EMR, and the ability to manage multiple clinical and administrative tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient benefits and insurance coverage accurately and efficiently
- Reactivate past patients and maintain engagement through consistent follow-ups
- Handle inbound calls and assist patients with inquiries professionally and empathetically
- Conduct appointment confirmations, reminders, and outbound follow-ups
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments using Athena EMR
- Maintain and update patient records in Athena EMR (required)
- Perform medical chart scrubbing to ensure accuracy and completeness of patient data
- Process and manage prior authorizations following payer and clinic guidelines
- Handle prescription refills in accordance with clinic protocols
- Audit laboratory results and follow up on missing or pending reports
- Monitor and manage clinic virtual kiosks as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience with Athena EMR (required)
- Experience working with US based clinics and/or health insurance providers
- Experience in insurance verification, patient coordination, and inbound call handling
- Experience in medical chart scrubbing and prior authorization processing
- Experience in refill processing, lab result auditing, and follow-up coordination
- Medical billing and coding experience is an advantage
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated for onsite work
