Job Description
Warbird Healthcare Advisors is seeking a Vice President–level leader to help originate, advise on, and execute healthcare mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, and strategic transactions. This role is ideal for a seasoned transaction professional who combines strong instincts with credibility in healthcare operations and strategy—and who is motivated to help build and grow a differentiated advisory platform.
This individual will play a dual role:
- Driving deal flow through relationships and market presence, and
- Leading transaction advisory execution, including diligence, integration, and divestiture support.
This position is well-suited for professionals currently at healthcare advisory firms or boutique investment banks who are looking for broader scope, closer client access, and a more entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal Origination & Market Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with health systems, physician enterprises, private equity sponsors, boards, and executive leaders.
- Source and help originate M&A, affiliation, joint-venture, and strategic partnership opportunities.
- Collaborate with Warbird partners and senior leaders to shape go-to-market strategies and expand the firm’s transaction advisory footprint.
- Represent Warbird in the healthcare advisory market through thought leadership, conferences, and professional networks.
Transaction Advisory & Execution
- Lead and support buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, including:
- Financial, operational, and strategic diligence
- Transaction readiness and value creation analyses
- Integration planning and post-close execution
- Divestiture and carve-out planning
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive teams and boards throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, clinical, and strategy leaders.
- Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Leadership & Firm Building
- Contribute to refining Warbird’s transaction advisory methodologies, tools, and intellectual capital.
- Partner with colleagues across interim leadership, restructuring, and performance improvement services to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Play an active role in building a high-performance, values-driven culture.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8–12+ years of experience in healthcare investment banking, transaction advisory, or M&A consulting.
- Background at a healthcare advisory firm or with an investment bank.
- Deep understanding of healthcare provider transactions, including health systems, physician groups, and related services.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to or lead deal origination efforts.
- Strong financial acumen paired with operational and strategic insight.
- Proven executive presence with boards, C-suite leaders, and investors.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA preferred.
