The Healthcare Institute is a week-long, residential, summer program designed for high-school students interested in a career in health sciences.The program mentors are Saint Mary’s students who will act as leaders during the program, facilitating small group discussions, helping organize activities, and building community among participants.
Position qualifications: Successful applicants will be Saint Mary’s students (rising juniors or seniors) who demonstrate leadership abilities, a commitment to engaged learning, and a competence in a healthcare-related major. Mentors should be reliable, able to maintain confidentiality, and open to welcoming and supporting participants from a range of backgrounds, viewpoints, and experiences. Preference given to applicants who are enrolled in a program that is within the Division of Integrated Health and Human Sciences (Nursing Science; Speech & Language Pathology; Autism Studies, Social Work), but anyone meeting the above requirements may apply.
