The Healthcare Applications Analyst serves as a critical liaison between Information Technology, Clinical Operations, and Business Departments to support, optimize, and enhance healthcare applications that drive patient care and organizational efficiency. This role combines strong technical expertise with a deep understanding of clinical and operational workflows to ensure healthcare technology solutions align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and user needs.

Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience supporting healthcare applications in a clinical, operational, or healthcare IT environment.
  • Experience designing and supporting healthcare workflows and business processes.
  • Experience developing and maintaining interfaces using Rhapsody Interface Engine or similar data interface product.
  • Experience administering and configuring Luma Health or similar patient engagement platforms.
  • Experience developing complex web forms, workflow automations, and digital patient interaction solutions.

Essential Job Functions

Clinical and Business Application Support

  • Serve as the primary analyst and technical resource for healthcare applications supporting clinical, operational, and administrative workflows.
  • Analyze workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, patient safety, user experience, and operational effectiveness.
  • Support application lifecycle activities including implementation, configuration, upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, nursing leadership, operational departments, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain application documentation, workflows, standards, and support procedures.
  • Participate in project planning, system implementations, and technology initiatives

Healthcare Workflow Optimization

  • Evaluate clinical and business processes to identify opportunities for automation and workflow improvement.
  • Design technology solutions that improve patient engagement, communication, scheduling, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze system utilization and recommend enhancements supporting organizational objectives.
  • Provide consultation regarding healthcare application best practices, integration, and optimization.

Patient Scheduling & Experience Platform Administration

  • Administer, configure, and optimize patient scheduling and engagement platforms.
  • Design and develop web forms, patient intake forms, registration workflows, scheduling workflows, automated communications, and digital engagement tools.
  • Configure automation rules, workflow routing, patient reminders, and engagement campaigns.
  • Monitor system performance and implement enhancements that improve patient experience and operational outcomes.

Systems Integration and Interface Development

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain interfaces using Rhapsody Interface Engine.
  • Build and support HL7, API, FHIR, and other healthcare data integrations.
  • Troubleshoot interface failures, data integrity issues, message processing errors, and connectivity concerns.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure interoperability between healthcare systems.
  • Monitor integration performance and implement reliability improvements.

SharePoint Administration and Business Solutions

  • Design, build, train, and maintain SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, forms, and workflow solutions.
  • Develop solutions that improve collaboration, document management, and operational efficiency.
  • Implement process improvements using Microsoft technologies.
  • Maintain governance, security, and best practices for SharePoint solutions.

Incident Management and Technical Support

  • Utilize IT Service Management tools to manage incidents, service requests, changes, and problem resolution.
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective action planning for recurring issues.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for application-related issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors and technical teams to resolve complex system challenges.

Training and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Deliver user training and educational materials for clinical and business applications.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to department leaders regarding application functionality and workflow enhancements.
  • Facilitate meetings to gather requirements and evaluate solution effectiveness.
  • Promote user adoption and change management during system implementations and enhancements.

  • Baxter medical device integrations and related applications
  • Braun medical device integrations and related applications
  • Healthcare communication and patient engagement platforms
  • Clinical workflow applications
  • Business productivity and operational systems

Compliance and Other Duties

  • Adhere to organizational policies, HIPAA requirements, security standards, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned within scope and demonstrated competency.

Physical requirements: This position is classified as Sedentary Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally) up to (33% of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (33%-66% of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
