About the Centre

The Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre (HALC) is one of 4 facilities in Boroondara, and is owned by City of Boroondara and managed proudly by The Y. The facility contains a 750m2 Health Club, 3 program rooms, an outdoor 50m pool, indoor pool, café, sauna, and child care services. About the role

Joining our team as the Health & Fitness Coordinator at Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre means becoming part of a vibrant and inclusive community. We value teamwork, excellence, and continuous improvement and are passionate about connecting communities with physical activity.

You will play a key role within the Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre leadership team, driving the performance outcomes for the health and fitness team while providing a high quality and robust programming schedule, focusing of driving participation and member retention. In this role you will oversee our health club and group fitness programs portfolios. You will be a considered decision maker and will be able to manage a multitude of tasks utilising good time management and organisational skills.

This is a full-time position with an annual salary between $66,940 - $73,668 per annum + Super & Y Benefits.

About you

This role is perfect for someone looking to take the next step in their heath and wellness career or move into recreation from a leadership role in another industry. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the health and fitness industry and eager to to learn the ropes and play a key role within the leadership team.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Think creatively with a solution focused approach
  • Be approachable and personable, with a customer focused approach to your work
  • Well acquainted with current trends in the health and fitness industry

Essential Qualifications

  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  • Minimum Certificate III in Fitness
  • Current registration with AUSactive

Other Desirable Skills

  • Leadership experience
  • Relevant diploma or equivalent
  • Sport and Recreation and/or Facility Operations experience

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
