A career within PwC’s Consulting Healthcare team offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of digital health innovation, supporting leading organisations across Ireland’s health system as they modernise technology, harness data and analytics, and drive largescale digital transformation. As a PwC Director, you will:

Shape and grow PwC’s impact in the health technology and data domain, building market leading propositions across digital health, data and AI enabled transformation and connected care.

Act as a trusted advisor to senior health system executives, guiding organisations through complex technology investment decisions, digital and data strategy, regulatory change and transformation programmes.

Lead major digital and data enabled change programmes, helping clients improve patient outcomes, optimise operations and unlock value through technology, modern data architectures and advanced analytics.

Set direction and inspire multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the successful delivery of major health technology programmes.

Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, quality, wellbeing and commercial discipline, developing the next generation of digital health leaders.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Growth

  • Lead business development efforts across health technology, including digital strategy, clinical system implementationand digital operations.

  • Build and deepen client relationships with senior technology, data, clinical and operational leaders.

  • Inform the development of sector-wide strategy and account plans as aligned with thePwCConsulting and firm strategy and lead implementation of these.

  • Design differentiated gotomarket offerings intechnologyand dataenabled service transformation, working closely withtechnology and data SME colleagues

  • Represent PwC as a recognised expert in digital health, data and technologyenabled transformation

2. Client Leadership & Advisory

  • Lead endtoend healthcare technologyfocused client engagements, from earlystage shaping through delivery

  • Advise senior leaders on digital health strategyandt

  • Translate digitalhealthstrategies into executable delivery roadmaps

  • Lead the design, build and implementation of digital health solutions, overseeing requirements definition, solution architecture, workflow redesign, configuration, testing, go-livereadinessand adoption support.

  • Diagnose system challenges related to, for example,legacy technology, fragmented data, operationalbottlenecksand digital capability gaps.Develop innovative, pragmatic solutions grounded in healthcare technology trends, sectorevidenceand practical delivery experienceto support clients in addressing identified challenges

3. Delivery Oversight

  • Oversee a portfolio of complex, multi-year digital transformation programmes.

  • Ensure delivery excellence, robust risk management and alignment to client goals while managing technology, data and change risks.

  • Provideexpertisein areas such as:

  • healthcare technology systemimplementation- cloud transformation and interoperability

  • analytics and population health intelligence

  • technologyenabled operating model redesign

  • Guide clients on design, build,implementationand adoption of health technology solutions.

4. People Leadership

  • Build and lead highperforming, multidisciplinary teams spanning technology, clinical and operational talent.

  • Mentor Senior Managers and Managers, supporting deepeningexpertiseacross healthtechnology.

  • Drive practice development, capabilitybuildingand talent retention in the health technology space.

5. Technical & Sector Expertise

Health Technology Directors are expected to bring deepexpertisein several of the following areas:

  • Digital health strategy, technologyroadmappingand transformation planning.

  • AIapplicationsin clinical, operationalor administrative contexts;

  • Healthcare technologysystems (e.g. EHR, digital frontdoor solutions, carecoordinationplatformsand workflow technology.

  • Technologyenabled transformation, including cloud migration and operating model redesign.

  • Performance improvement and productivity programmes enabled by data and digital tools.

  • Health system planning, serviceredesignand pathway digitisation supported by technology.

  • Capital, technologyprocurementand vendor management across the health ecosystem.

Your Profile

  • 10–12+ years’ experience in digital health, health technology transformation, or healthcare consulting.

  • Deep understanding of the Irish healthcare system’s digital and data landscape, policy context, and current transformation programmes.

  • Strongtrack recordof leading complex technology and data programmes within largescale healthcare environments.

  • Proven ability to influence senior executives across clinical, operational, data and technology domains.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a record of building pipeline, developingproposalsand winning new digital and data work.

  • Ability to translate complex technology and data challenges into clear strategic pathways and measurable outcomes.

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary delivery teams andleveragingglobalexpertise

  • Commitment to innovation, digital enablement, emergingtechnologiesand continuous improvement in healthcare.

  • Excellent communication,facilitationand stakeholderengagement skills

  • Relevantundergraduate and / orMaster’sdegree, for examplein Health Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering

  • Relevant professional certifications such asPMP, PRINCE2, Scrum/Agile,HIMSS, HL7/FHIR,EHRvendor certifications
