The Health Systems Team Lead / Senior Business Analyst is responsible for leading the analysis, design, testing, and successful implementation of strategic and operational technology solutions within the Health Systems environment.

This role acts as the bridge between business and technology, ensuring business needs are translated into clear functional and technical requirements, delivered through the development lifecycle, and implemented in line with governance and operational standards. The role also provides leadership, mentorship, and quality oversight to the Health Systems Business Analyst team while driving continuous improvement, automation, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Business requirement documentation

Qualifications

REQUIRED – Essential Experience

  • 5–8 years' experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or Health Systems within the Medical Aid or Medical Insurance industry.
  • Experience leading or mentoring a team of Business Analysts or Systems Analysts.
  • Experience delivering technology projects across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience working with the MIP Medical Aid/Medical Insurance Administration System (CRM and Administration modules), including configuration, workflows, membership, claims, and operational processes.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and engaging with senior business stakeholders.
  • Experience in testing, defect management, release management, and production support.

Advantageous

  • Experience working with APIs, integrations, batch processing, and third-party systems.
  • Experience with healthcare claims, membership, provider, or wellness administration systems.
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.

EDUCATION: QUALIFICATIONS: ACCREDITATIONS WITH PROFESSIONAL BODY

REQUIRED

  • Degree in Business Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred

  • Business Analysis certification (IIBA, FTI, or equivalent).
  • Project Management certification or exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • SQL certification or relevant database training.

Technical Skills

Essential

  • Basic SQL skills (Microsoft SQL and/or PostgreSQL).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Business process modelling and documentation.
  • Requirements gathering and functional specification writing.
  • Test planning and execution.

Advantageous

  • JIRA or similar work management tools.
