
TITLE OF VACANCY: Health Services Lead Nurse (School Nurse) – 261 days

ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT: TheWest Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (WVSDB)
LOCATION: Romney, West Virginia
Provide comprehensive services of assessment, promotion and maintenance of health for students enrolled at the WVSDB campus. Additionally, serves as the School Nurse during the instructional day for WVSDB. The service is directed toward prevention of illness, health promotion, rehabilitation and continuity of care, health counseling and education, and care in acute illness and primary health care. Provides leadership in the day-to-day operation of the school Health Services Department. Also responsible for the operation and oversight of medical/mental health needs of residential students, campus clinics, and administrative duties in the field as assigned by the Director of Residential & Health Services. Maintains an on call schedule for weekends if medical needs arise.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will adhere to WVBE Policy 5902 – "Employee Code of Conduct" and the applicable WVSDB personnel policies for employee performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate.

COMPENSATION:
Salary based on the WVSDB Professional Salary Schedule, 260-day contract and salary classification, years of experience and applicable administrator supplement. Supplemental pay table is available at - WVSDB HR Page - Supplemental Pay Schedule Additional compensation is available for holding ASL proficiency as detailed in the WVSDB Communication Policy.
