🔎 About the Role

As the Health & Safety Officer, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and rigorous maintenance of the resort’s HACCP and OSH (Occupational Safety & Health) systems. You are the primary guardian of guest and staff wellbeing, ensuring 100% compliance with RIU’s global Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the Thai Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Act B.E. 2554, and Public Health Act B.E. 2535.

From food safety and water hygiene to leading the Safety Committee and managing emergency crisis protocols, you will play a high-impact role in securing the "Gold Standard" of excellence during the high-profile opening of RIU Palace Phuket.

🌟 What You’ll Do

  • HACCP & Food Safety Leadership: Lead the resort’s HACCP team to implement and audit food safety systems in strict accordance with the Food Act B.E. 2522 and Ministry of Public Health notifications.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Auditing: Serve as the officially registered Safety Officer (Professional Level) to manage all legal licenses, health cards for food handlers, and mandatory reporting to the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare (DLPW).

  • Hygiene & Environment Oversight: Enforce high sanitary standards across all kitchens and staff canteens by conducting inspections that meet Public Health Act B.E. 2535 requirements for businesses hazardous to health.

  • Manage all internal and external health & safety audits, including pre-opening certifications and ongoing compliance checks.

  • Water Safety & Technical Monitoring: Execute the Department of Health guidelines for water hygiene by verifying biocide/pH levels in pools and cooling towers to ensure the prevention of Legionella and water-borne diseases.

  • Training & Crisis Management: Facilitate mandatory trainings, including basic firefighting, first aid, and chemical handling to ensure 100% compliance with Ministerial Regulations on Fire Prevention and OSH training.

  • Reporting & Incident Management: Analyze workplace risks, investigate accidents, and submit legal reports to the General Manager and relevant Thai authorities within statutory deadlines.

✔️ What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in a Health & Safety Officer or similar role, preferably within a 5-star hotel or similar environment.

  • Technical Skills: expertise in HACCP systems, OSHA standards, and food safety legislation.

  • Education: Degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.

  • Certifications: Certified HACCP Lead/Coordinator and valid First Aid/CPR trainer certification.

  • Strong command of English and Thai (spoken and written) is essential for regulatory liaison and staff training.
