We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that our operations meet all health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements. You will work closely with various departments to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the company.

Shift & Hours of work: Monday to Friday - Fixed Shift, working 08:00hrs to 16:30hrs

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain effective health, safety, and environmental management systems in line with current legislation and company policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and training to employees and management to promote safe working practices.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and lead actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and implement environmental initiatives to minimize the company’s environmental impact.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to HSE activities.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and continuous improvement within the organisation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment role, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments, audits, and investigations effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and advise all levels of staff and management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with health and safety management systems.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and promoting a positive health and safety culture.
