Greenfield is seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator to actively support operations at the Varennes distillery. The successful candidate is responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining rigorous health and safety standards. The role may also involve contributing to various projects or assignments, based on organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Be actively involved in operational activities to oversee and support day to day occupational health and safety (OHS) practices;
• Provide recommendations to management regarding priority actions;
• Implement and adapt work instructions based on the nature of the tasks;
• Participate in equipment start ups and commissioning activities;
• Conduct audits and workplace inspections and follow up on corrective actions;
• Intervene and raise awareness with employees and contractors in cases of non compliance with procedures;
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings related to job hazard analyses;
• Support the OHS training function through the development of training materials and the delivery of select training sessions;
• Participate in risk assessments using established tools;
• Support the action tracking program related to incident and event reports;
• Oversee prevention initiatives, including safety communications, safety talks, and related activities;
• Ensure required material resources are available and properly used (PPE, measuring devices, etc.);
• Maintain up to date knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, standards, personal protective equipment, and best practices;
• Actively participate as a member of the OHS committee.
Job Requirements:
• Proactively take ownership of OHS issues, ensure rigorous follow up of action items, and be accountable for results;
• Clearly and effectively communicate safety instructions, risk analyses, work procedures, and key messages;
• Build a climate of trust with employees, managers, and contractors to encourage adherence to OHS practices;
• Demonstrate the ability to develop, implement, and consistently enforce high OHS standards in a structured manner;
• Comply with and act in accordance with laws and regulations governing programs and procedures related to:
– Occupational health and safety
– Quality systems and requirements specific to the Varennes distillery
– Environmental management systems, with a focus on fostering individual environmental awareness in daily tasks and behaviors
• Possess a solid knowledge of OHS laws and regulations;
• Management position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Experience:
• Minimum of five years of proven OHS experience in an industrial environment;
• Hands on field experience with various OHS programs.
Education:
• Hold an OHS certificate or an equivalent qualification.
