He angitūtanga: The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Business Partner to join our Safety, Health and Wellbeing team. This is a senior partnering role focused on strengthening leadership practice, improving safety culture, and embedding safe, healthy work across TAU’s diverse and complex operations. Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, you will work closely with leaders across business units to provide practical advice, influence behavioural change, and support the delivery of sustainable health and safety performance.
You will partner with Rōpū leaders, operational managers, project teams and event managers to ensure risk is well managed, systems are effective, and legislative requirements are met. This role requires the ability to balance assurance with practical, proportionate advice in fast-paced operational environments including events, venues, property and capital works.

You are a confident, credible and pragmatic health and safety professional who enjoys working alongside leaders to influence positive change. You are comfortable operating in complex, multi-site environments and can translate regulatory requirements into practical, workable solutions.
You bring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders — from frontline teams to senior management. You are proactive, solutions-focused and committed to continuous improvement.
