As an HSW Apprentice, you'll work closely with project teams and safety professionals to help maintain high standards of health, safety and wellbeing across our sites.
Support site inspections, audits and safety tours
Assist with risk assessments and hazard identification
Help investigate incidents, near misses and accidents
Prepare reports and maintain safety records
Support the delivery of site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings
Promote positive health, safety and wellbeing behaviours
Assist with behavioural safety initiatives and campaigns
Help monitor and analyse health, safety and environmental performance data
Support the development and review of safety procedures and documentation
Build relationships with project teams, contractors and stakeholders

Conducting workplace inspections and monitoring activities
Identifying hazards and supporting risk control measures
Supporting incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
Collecting, analysing and reporting safety performance data
Delivering engaging presentations, inductions and toolbox talks
Applying Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems
Providing advice on safe working practices and company procedures
Managing and maintaining accurate safety documentation

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
Experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure or a related environment
Awareness of health and safety principles and safe working practices
Apprenticeship Standard: Safety, Health and Environment Technician (ST0550)
Level: Level 3
Duration: Typically 24 months
Professional Recognition: Successful completion can lead to eligibility for TechIOSH membership with IOSH.
