Health, Safety and Environmental Operational Support (Blue Collar) – Job Description

Reports to: Plant HSE Manager

Location: click fit Delft

Classification: Blue Collar

Purpose of the Role

To actively support the Plant HSE Manager in maintaining a safe, compliant, and continuously improving work environment. The HSE Correspondent is a hands-on, visible presence on the shop floor, ensuring safety and environmental standards are met, supporting compliance, and fostering a proactive safety culture. The role is related to click fit area.

Key Responsibilities

1. On-the-Ground Safety Support

  • Conduct daily walk-throughs and inspections of the manufacturing/workshop areas to identify and address hazards.
  • Respond immediately to safety issues, unsafe acts, or near misses, and intervene as needed.
  • Coach all employees to correctly use required PPE at all time and to comply with site safety rules.

2. Training, Coaching & Communication

  • Deliver on-the-job safety and environmental training, toolbox talks, and briefings to employees and contractors.
  • Communicate and reinforce good safety practices and HSE rules.
  • Participate in safety and environmental campaigns and promote a culture of shared vigilance.
  • Coach supervisors in gaining autonomy managing HSE issues in their teams

3. Incident & Risk Management

  • Member of the immediate response team for safety and environmental incidents; collect facts, conduct initial investigations, and support root cause analysis.
  • Support the implementation and follow-up of corrective actions and action plans.
  • Member of working groups (manufacturing, logistics, maintenance° who carries out and document risk assessments. Follow-up implementation of risk reduction measures.

4. Regulatory & Administrative Support

  • Assist with HSE data reporting, maintaining dashboards, and updating documentation (e.g., COSHH assessments, Safety Work Instructions, …).
  • Support chemical inventory management and participate to maintaining compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., UK COSHH, ISO45001, ISO14001, etc).
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and emergency drills.

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to HSE improvement projects and propose new actions/tools.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of innovative HSE practices.

Profile & Competencies

Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and safety equipment.
  • Familiarity with HSE standards (ISO45001, ISO14001), regulatory codes, and risk assessment tools.
  • IT proficiency (Office 365, SharePoint, Teams).

Behavioural Skills:

  • Field-oriented, team player, and sets a positive example.
  • Strong communication and persuasion skills.
  • Proactive, able to make proposals and drive improvements.
  • Physical stamina for active, hands-on work.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ higher education or equivalent experience in HSE or related field.
  • Knowledge of HSE obligations, risks, and tools.

Doel van de functie

De functie heeft als doel de Plant HSE Manager actief te ondersteunen bij het behouden van een veilige, conforme en continu verbeterende werkomgeving. De HSE Correspondent is een praktische, zichtbare aanwezigheid op de werkvloer en zorgt ervoor dat veiligheids- en milieunormen worden nageleefd, compliance wordt ondersteund en een proactieve veiligheidscultuur wordt bevorderd. De rol is specifiek gericht op het Click Fit-gebied.

Belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden

1. Operationele ondersteuning op de werkvloer

  • Dagelijkse rondgangen en inspecties uitvoeren in de productie- en werkplaatsgebieden om gevaren te identificeren en aan te pakken.
  • Direct reageren op veiligheidsissues, onveilige handelingen of bijna-ongevallen en indien nodig ingrijpen.
  • Medewerkers coachen om altijd de vereiste PBM’s correct te gebruiken en de veiligheidsregels op de locatie te respecteren.

2. Training, Coaching & Communicatie

  • On-the-job trainingen geven over veiligheid en milieu, evenals toolboxmeetings en korte veiligheidsbriefings aan medewerkers en contractors.
  • Goede veiligheidspraktijken en HSE-regels communiceren en versterken.
  • Deelnemen aan veiligheids- en milieucampagnes en een cultuur van gedeelde waakzaamheid stimuleren.
  • Leidinggevenden coachen in het zelfstandig beheren van HSE-zaken binnen hun teams.

3. Incident- & Risicobeheer

  • Lid zijn van het directe responsteam voor veiligheids- en milieu-incidenten; feiten verzamelen, eerste onderzoeken uitvoeren en ondersteunen bij root cause analyses.
  • Ondersteunen bij de implementatie en opvolging van corrigerende maatregelen en actieplannen.
  • Lid zijn van werkgroepen (productie, logistiek, onderhoud) die risicoanalyses uitvoeren en documenteren, en opvolgen dat risicobeperkende maatregelen worden uitgevoerd.

4. Regelgevende & Administratieve ondersteuning

  • Assisteren bij HSE-rapportages, het bijhouden van dashboards en het actualiseren van documentatie (bijv. COSHH-beoordelingen, Safety Work Instructions).
  • Ondersteuning bieden bij chemisch voorraadbeheer en bijdragen aan naleving van relevante regelgeving (zoals UK COSHH, ISO45001, ISO14001).
  • Deelnemen aan audits, inspecties en nood‑oefeningen.

5. Continue verbetering

  • Bijdragen aan HSE‑verbeterprojecten en nieuwe acties of tools voorstellen.
  • Deelnemen aan de ontwikkeling en implementatie van innovatieve HSE‑praktijken.
