Your Role: Health, Safety, and Environment Intern– Elwood, Kansas (Summer 2027)
As a Summer 2027 Health, Safety, and Environment Intern with Elanco Animal Health, you will be part of the Health, Safety, and Environment team at our Elwood, Kansas manufacturing plant, contributing to a hands-on project focused on strengthening safety culture, supporting injury prevention, and advancing environmental initiatives. You will gain experience through day-to-day safety support and coaching while helping design, implement, and execute initiatives that support our vision of an injury-free workplace.
Your Responsibilities:
Understand the safety and environmental considerations in the pharmaceutical industry
Work within cross-functional teams to implement a project that improves safety by Hazard Assessment & Control
Support day-to-day safety initiatives and activities that promote a strong safety culture and injury prevention
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Education Currently enrolled in Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental or Safety Management or other related engineering fields, with a focus on Industrial Hygiene
Top Skills:Effective communication across all levels of the organization, cross-functional collaboration, strong business and personal integrity, and the ability to build trust and mutual respect.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
Familiarity with industrial hygiene principles, regulatory requirements, and workplace safety practices
Ability to assess workplace exposures and apply sound judgment whenidentifyingpotential health and safety risks
Experience or interest in environmental, air quality, noise, or other workplacemonitoringpractices
Strong communicationskills and the ability to collaborate with others to address workplace hazards and support positive change
Additional Information:
Travel10% - to corporate facility in Indianapolis, IN for opening/closing
