Health & Safety Advisor

£35,000 – £45,000 per annum

Full-Time | Permanent

Hadleigh, Suffolk, with travel into London approximately once every 1–2 weeks

Monday–Thursday: 08:00–17:00 | Friday: 08:00–16:00

A well-respected business operating within the specialist manufacturing and project delivery space is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join its team on a full-time, permanent basis. The company works across a variety of high-specification environments, with both workshop-based and site-based operations throughout the South East.

This role is ideally suited to an individual with a solid grounding in health and safety, looking to further develop their career within a supportive and quality-driven organisation.

The Role

Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for supporting compliance across both the factory and active project sites, helping to maintain high standards in line with legislative and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake regular site inspections and audits, reporting findings and ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
  • Contribute to and lead internal health & safety forums and meetings, preparing documentation and tracking outcomes.
  • Prepare and review Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and COSHH assessments.
  • Collaborate with project teams and subcontractors to ensure all relevant H&S documentation is in place and up to date.
  • Keep up to date with regulatory changes, updating internal processes as needed.
  • Conduct accident and incident investigations, prepare detailed reports, and support any RIDDOR reporting requirements.
  • Assist with the development and continual improvement of ISO-certified management systems (9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Promote a positive safety culture and contribute to training and awareness initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
  • Sound understanding of UK health & safety legislation and best practice
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to London periodically

Desirable:

  • First Aid at Work qualification
  • CSCS card
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, or 45001
  • Experience in safety within a manufacturing, construction, or project delivery environment

Additional Information

  • The role is based at the company’s main office in Hadleigh, with travel into London approximately once every one to two weeks.
