Instructional Assistants Salary Schedule effective August 16th, 2026

Health Room Office Professional:
The primary responsibility is to oversee the Health Room, including the supervision and monitoring of students referred for illness which may include the administration of first aid that falls within normal procedures. The incumbent of this position may also be delegated the responsibility for administration of medication(s), to appropriate students by the School Nurse (Health Service Specialist "HSS") in compliance with State law and District policy. When not performing Health Room duties the position performs clerical and secretarial duties as assigned and may support building, department, or administrative staff. While the primary focus of this position is health room coverage, the position may be assigned to front or back office tasks, and will communicate with students, public, administrators, and other school personnel. All general administrative support positions are expected to perform common office procedures such as answering phones; providing information and customer service to students, employees and/or the community; word processing or data entry; and maintaining records while maintaining confidentiality. Although certain recurring tasks or responsibilities may be assigned to certain individuals within an office with multiple support positions, all employees in these positions are expected to contribute to keeping the office functioning effectively and efficiently.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Four years job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility OR associate's degree and two years job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility.

Instructional Assistant
Assists teaching staff by completing instructional tasks and maintaining an orderly classroom to provide a positive learning environment. May be assigned to classroom, lunchroom, library, before or after school academic programs, or office. At elementary level, assignment includes crossing guard and playground duties. May be assigned to an individual student or work with entire classroom.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must hold an associate degree (AA) or higher OR have completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours OR have passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher. Official documentation will be required upon hire.
