Job Description

Friendship is looking for a Full Time Administrator to join our Richfield Health Center team located in Salem, VA. The Administrator is responsible for ensuring that the medically related emotional and social needs of the residents are met and maintained on an individual basis in accordance with facility policies and procedures, and current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Qualifications:
• Must possess a current Nursing Home Administrator license and be in good standing with the Board of Long-Term Care Administrators
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Long-term care environment with 3 years of progressive supervisory experience preferred
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Accountable for the total operation of the facility and its compliance with applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations
• Ensures very high resident and family satisfaction with services and staff of the facility
• Conducts routine facility rounds to evaluate operations and offers suggestions or direction to facility staff that are intended to attain or maintain the highest practicable standards of facility operation
• Ensure appropriate utilization of supplies and equipment and monitors facility staff for safe and effective operation.
• Hires, directs, disciplines, and terminates facility personnel as appropriate in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Provide direction to facility staff through written standards, policy and procedure, meetings and memos
• Oversee business functions of the facility, insuring proper management of admissions, ancillaries, payables, receivables, payroll and related office or paperwork requirements
• Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets to effectively utilize fiscal resources
• Build an effective team of departments to address and facilitate efficient day to day operating functions of the facility
• Ensure that personnel are assigned responsibilities consistent with their education, certification, experience and ability
• Ensure that nursing services are planned, implemented, and evaluated to maximize resident quality of life and quality of care
• Ensure that social service programs are planned, implemented, and evaluated to meet resident psychological and social needs and preferences to maximize resident quality of life and quality of care
• Ensure that medical service, food service, therapeutic recreation/activities, rehabilitation, health information management and pharmaceutical programs are planned, implemented, and evaluated to meet the needs of each resident and to maximize resident quality of life and quality of care
• Ensure that a system for maintaining and improving buildings, grounds, and equipment is planned, implemented, and evaluated.
• Ensure that the facility provides a clean, attractive, and home-like environment for residents, staff, and visitors
• Identify, monitor, and ensure that quality indicators and quality assurance programs are utilized to maximize effectiveness in resident care and services
• Ensure the integration of Resident Rights with all aspects of resident care
• Identify areas of potential legal liability, and develop and implement an administrative intervention or risk management program to minimize or eliminate exposure
• Develop or influence a strategic planning process to ensure viability of facility
• Market facility services to appropriate family and community services and identify staff members’ marketing responsibilities.
• Ensure sustainable occupancy rate
• Establishes systems by which procedures are carried out and evaluates the effectiveness of the system and/or the need to revise the system to promote greater efficiency
• Establishes and alters staffing patterns within the framework of the established budget based on the needs of residents.
• Evaluates policies, procedures, objectives, staffing patterns, personnel, budgetary concerns, committee work, and training programs/resources for the facility
• Plans, enforces and prepares the facility for state/federal survey process
• Ensures annual licensure and maximizes CMS star ratings for all categories
• Conduct administrative review of survey outcomes to develop appropriate response (for example, no response, preparation of plan of correction, preparation of documentation for Informal Dispute Resolution [IDR]).
• Reviews and considers recommendations from professionals including but not limited to, Medical Director, Registered Dietician, Pharmacist, LTC Consultants, etc. and implements corrective actions as indicated
• Monitors and enforces systems/procedures designed to provide security and safety for residents and staff
• Ensure that adequate procedures and supplies are available in case of emergency. Monitor staff response to emergencies and provides instruction or direction to ensure the actions of staff during emergencies meet current standards of practice and care
