The opportunity:

We currently have an opportunity for a Health Product Manager to join our Product and Pricing team within AIA Health based in either Melbourne or Sydney. In this role you will be responsible for driving product profitability and growth through strategic product development for AIA Health’s domestic, corporate and OVHC business streams.

A strong understanding of the competitor landscape and in-depth competitor analysis to identify areas of difference (positive and negative) are critical within this role to ensure AIA Health are able to stay ahead of market opportunities and selection risk.

To do this successfully you will:

  • Design product offerings and benefits that maintain product competitiveness and profitability for distribution channels (broker, direct, portals, aggregators and partners)
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify the underlying issues and potential product implications associated with key business challenges
  • Attend industry events as required to ensure we are across latest market and legislative changes
  • Present product proposals at Stakeholder and Governance forums, influence outcomes and build endorsement by senior leaders to ensure support for delivery
  • Ensure that all Hospital and Ancillary products are designed and enhanced to:
    • Remain competitive in the PHI market
    • Are innovative and drive, sales, retention and profitability
    • Optimise AIA Vitality to create compelling and unique value proposition, that sets AIA Health apart in the PHI Market
  • Work closely with Distribution, Marketing, Risk & Compliance, Legal, Operations, Health Actuarial and IT in the performance of all the above tasks

Successful applications will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience as a Product Manager or Product Analyst within a financial services or insurance organisation
  • A strong understanding of the key drivers of Private Health Insurance within Australia
  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to manage personal workloads while meeting demanding deadlines.
  • Strong commercial acumen, and highly progressed critical thinking
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Previous experience using Confluence and Jira will be highly regarded
  • The ability to use PHI platforms such as HAMBs will be beneficial to this role
