Program Development

  • Support in proposal development for program expansion.
  • Conduct routine assessments and monitor health trends to inform programming.
  • Engage with other NGOs and UN organisations to ensure effective leverage of resources.
  • Facilitate donor visits and respond to all donor adhoc requests
  • Conduct regular project reviews in conjunction with the SMoH and CHD
  • Program Implementation
  • Provide leadership in the implementation of Primary Health Care services in the County as guided by the project objectives, logical framework and work plan.
  • Improve Maternal and Child Health indicators and EPI coverage in the County.
  • Ensure HF conduct EPI outreaches.
  • Ensure use of the SMOH data collection and reporting tools by all HFs
  • In liaison with CHD conduct weekly, monthly and quarterly supervisory visits to the health facilities.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities and projects as assigned, including administrative and planning functions.
  • Conduct routine support supervisory visits to the health facilities
  • Strategic leadership and Representation.
  • Manage proactive and responsive relationship with county authorities in close collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Directly oversee project implementation, ensuring that all strategic objectives are met through proper design, staffing, implementation and quality assurance at county level.
  • Support CHD staff and build capacity of health workers to manage health activities.
  • Respond to adhoc project and donor requests
  • Conduct quarterly joint support supervision with CHD.
  • Conduct quarterly QOC assessments at the HFs.
  • Attend county level coordination meeting (weekly, EPI hub meetings)
  • Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
  • Reporting: Write weekly reports every Friday by 4pm
  • Report all incidences affecting service delivery within 24hours
  • Provide monthly, narrative, HRIS, ITT by 8th of every month.
  • Provide monthly reports by 2nd of every month
  • Provide quarterly reports including success stories by 5th of every quarter
  • Monitor the project assets and ensure they are well tagged
  • Staff and Budget Management: Directly manage health facilities staff by developing performance objectives and appraisals.
  • Support the CHD to ensure qualified staff are recruited into existing positions.
  • Ensure HF staff files are well kept and updated at all times at the CHD.
  • Ensure health facility staff have JDs
  • Develop staff development and leave plans
  • Ensure staff adhere to WV policies
  • Provide on job coaching and mentorship to staff on weekly basis
  • Work closely with the CHD to prepare payrolls

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • A health professional
  • At least 5years of professional experience, out of which at least 2 years in emergency response.
  • Prior experience in project design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of project
  • Experience working in difficult environment contexts within South Sudan.
  • Prior working experience in managing health projects implemented through government health care system
  • Experience supervising health workers and volunteers.
  • Flexibility, ability to multitask, ability to handle pressure well and meet deadlines, ability to improvise
  • A degree/Diploma in medicine, Nursing, Public Health or related field)
  • Effective in written and verbal communication in English.
  • Speaks fluent Dinka/arabic language.
  • Motorcycle riding license.
  • Work experience should demonstrate understanding of the South Sudan’s refugees projects.
  • Strong working understanding of community health interventions
  • Demonstrated application of Do No Harm, including understanding of intended and unintended consequences of gender equality and social inclusion interventions, and risk mitigation approaches
  • Excellent work experience in training facilitation and mentoring
