Job Description

Under the supervision of the AED, the Health & Nutrition Coordinator provides leadership, oversight, and consultation to ensure comprehensive health and nutrition services across Early Childhood Programs. The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies, including OCFS, Head Start Performance Standards, and CACFP, while promoting best practices in child health, safety, and wellness.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance with OCFS, Head Start Performance Standards, and CACFP requirements.’
  • Conducts monitoring, audits, and health record reviews and implements corrective actions.
  • Supports programs during licensing inspections and regulatory reviews.
  • Oversees delivery of health and nutrition services, including screenings, immunizations, and oral health.
  • Ensures timely follow-up and documentation of all health requirements.
  • Coordinates care for children with chronic conditions and special health needs.
  • Provides guidance on infection control, communicable diseases, MAT, and illness management.
  • Advises staff on exclusion policies and return to care decisions.
  • Supports families in accessing medical, dental, and community health services.
  • Collaborates with nutrition staff to ensure CACFP compliance, menu review, and dietary accommodations.
  • Develops and implements health and nutrition policies, procedures, and staff training.
  • Maintains accurate health tracking systems; collaborates with families, providers, and leadership; participates in committees and program operations.
  • Supervises center nurses and dietician.
  • Participates in other assignments deemed necessary for the successful operations of Early Childhood Program.

Requirements

You must have:

· Licensed Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Experience in pediatric, community health, or early childhood settings preferred.

· Knowledge of OCFS Daycare regulations, Head Start Performance Standards, and CACFP requirements preferred.

· Experience with health monitoring systems, compliance audits, and staff training.
