Salary Range: $24.00 - $27.00 Hourly

Position Summary: This position will ensure that the patient’s medical records are retrieved, organized, processed, indexed, and available upon request in a timely and efficient manner. This position will ensure that patients needing specialty services can access them in a timely and efficient manner and are responsible for managing the referral life cycle from open to close.
Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm @ 8405 Bverly Blvd, 90048. Eligible for hybrid schedule after 6 months
Essential Functions:
- Answer all inquiries including telephone calls, in-basket messages, and emails regarding communication on status updates, document look-up, and all other questions related to the patient’s medical records.
- Send incoming patient records to PCP or ordering provider for review and signage and collect to begin scanning/indexing processing.
- Utilize e-fax, secure email, or online portals upload or send medical records, consult notes, and results to fulfill ROI requests.
- Process Release of Information (ROI) and Subpoena requests
- Index patients’ documents into Epic that include a sort, barcode, scan, quality check for accuracy, and then index and commit documents to the correct tab in the patient chart utilizing OnBase or Dentrix programs.
- Assist in the processing of New Referral requests for authorization utilizing e-referral application(s) and tracking in Epic electronic health record (EHR).
- Assist patients with questions and status of referral authorization.
- Review referrals for completeness and follow up for additional information if necessary.
- Managing the referral life cycle in person, over the phone, email, and EHR correspondence.
- Follows-up on results, denials, and deferred referrals proceeding a new referral request in the work queue, which may include communication with the patient, specialist, IPA, or external agencies involved with the patient care to identify the status of referral and document progress in patients’ record.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the direct Supervisor.
Position Requirements:
- Prior experience in the healthcare field preferred
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to handle customer relations and team communication.
- Must be detail-oriented
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support teams in a mission-driven and compliance-focused environment.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel).
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR systems).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Bilingual skills (writing and verbal) in Spanish, Korean, or Russian, preferred.

Saban Community Clinic first opened its doors in 1967 as The Los Angeles Free Clinic, a pioneer in free health care through the early 2000s.
