Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. The Health Information Coordinator 1/2 is responsible for screening patients in the main screening area.

Examples of duties

One year of experience in administrative services; OR

One year of training in or completion of a business or clerical-related curriculum from a business school or technical institute.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the required general experience.

Job Duties:

• Issue account numbers to patients seeking medical services.
• Verify and update patients' personal information.
• Verify and update patients' health insurance.
• Transferring orders to medical records for charting.
• Assisting patients in Community Care Medicaid obtain referrals for visits.
• Follow HIPPA Guidelines, and provide patients with HIPPA information.

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Health information 1 or 2, depending on the applicant's qualifications.

Work Schedule: This position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with no weekend or holiday requirements.
