The Louisiana State Penitentiary is currently seeking applicants for the position of Health Information Coordinator 1–3, a position that plays an important role in supporting the facility’s medical operations through the management and organization of health records and medical information. This position is responsible for maintaining medical records, ensuring documentation is properly filed and recorded, protecting confidential health information, and assisting medical and administrative staff with records management and information tracking. The Health Information Coordinator helps ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and privacy regulations while supporting the daily operations of the medical department. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and able to maintain strict confidentiality. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for success in this position. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in healthcare administration, medical records, and information management to become part of a professional team supporting healthcare services within one of Louisiana’s largest correctional institutions.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the required general experience.
