Description & Requirements

At Bupa purpose meets possible. Building a healthcare ecosystem that is connected, innovative, highly personalised and fiercely supportive of elder autonomy and dignity.

We are a global healthcare leader trusted by millions, committed to helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. Healthcare is changing rapidly, and Bupa is leading the charge. By integrating smart health technologies, predictive care tools, and holistic wellness models, we are empowering customers to retain control over their lives, stay connected to their communities and loved ones, and experience true quality of life.

In this role, you’ll lead the growth and delivery of Bupa’s Health Hub and emerging healthcare services for older people. This is a broad leadership role where you’ll shape safe, customer-centred services across allied health, registered nursing, virtual care and external provider networks.

You’ll be accountable for the end-to-end customer journey for new services — from enquiry and assessment through to service coordination, review and escalation — while driving service growth, operational excellence, commercial performance and continuous improvement.

Working across Bupa and with trusted partners, you’ll help build services that are safe, consistent, scalable and genuinely make a difference for older people and their whānau.

Where you will make an impact

  • Lead the safe, effective and customer-centred delivery of Health Hub, allied health, RN, telehealth and virtual care services.
  • Shape, establish and scale new services that support older people to access the right care, in the right way, at the right time.
  • Provide leadership and support to Health Hub team members, building capability, accountability and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Drive operational and commercial performance, including service growth, utilisation, productivity, quality, outcomes and customer retention.
  • Use customer, workforce, service and financial insights to guide decisions, improve performance and realise benefits.
  • Build and manage external provider and funder relationships, ensuring clear standards, agreements, referral pathways and performance measures.
  • Own the end-to-end customer experience, making sure customers and their families receive clear information, coordinated support and responsive service.
  • Partner across Villages, Care Homes, Clinical & Quality, Customer, Digital, Finance, Procurement and Operations to embed and grow integrated services.
  • Provide clear reporting and advice to senior leaders on performance, risks, trends and opportunities.

About You

You’re a confident health leader who can turn ideas into safe, practical and customer-focused services. You bring commercial confidence, strong relationship skills and the ability to lead people through change with clarity and care. You will bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in management, health or a related field.
  • Experience leading healthcare, care, customer or service operations in complex environments.
  • Strong people leadership, with the ability to build trust, lift performance and grow positive team culture.
  • Proven experience leading change, service improvement or new service implementation.
  • Sound knowledge of quality, risk, compliance and clinical governance.
  • Commercial confidence, using customer, operational and financial insights to improve performance.
  • Strong influencing skills across clinical, operational, commercial and corporate teams.
  • Experience working with external providers, partnerships or contracted services.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused style and confidence leading evolving service models.
  • A nursing background with current NZ registration and APC would be highly regarded, as would experience in allied health, aged care, primary care, home and community health, telehealth or digital health.

Why you’ll love it

  • You will join a collaborative network, backed by a global organisation committed to pioneering new standards in senior health and wellbeing.
  • Access to Bupa Campus – your go-to space for global learning and development
  • Access to Viva, Bupa's global employee wellbeing programme
  • Southern Cross health insurance membership with monthly premiums fully paid for eligible employees
  • Enhanced parental leave - 12 or 24 weeks of paid gender-neutral parental leave for eligible employees
  • Access to a wide range of employee benefits and discounts across retail, technology and more. Employee Assistance Programme when you need it most
  • Free flu vaccinations, free skin checks and initial menopause consultation

Applications will be reviewed as they are received and therefore may result in the role closing early if the right applicant is found.
